I smoked too many cigarettes today
thinking of you -
each image an inhalation
each word
a slow release of breath
each match struck,
like your fingers on my flesh
like flame
tracing lazy circles
while the smoke curled

around my face
filling my lungs
like you
on a lazy saturday afternoon

I smoked to many cigarettes today
thinking of you...
